I need to get out of China due to my visa staying time limit and I was thinking of crossing the border at ZH-Macau as the flight tickets to ZH are cheaper than the ones to Shenzhen (in this case crossing border through HK). The problem is that I couldn't find much information about bus services from ZH airport to the border.I was thinking of getting there on a late flight, arriving there 11:00 PM, get a hotel nearby the airport and cross the border early in the next morning, then get a flight from ZH to my city that would depart around 11:30 AM the same day, would that be ok or there isn't enough time? If not, how much time should I reserve for crossing the border from the airport and coming back to the airport?What time does the first bus from ZH airport leaves to the border and how frequently there are buses from the border to ZH airport? Hi, you can easily take the shuttle bus line 1 or line 2 at ZH Airport to ZH Light Rail Station (near Gongbei Border) and the last bus seems to leave the airport around 18:00, so it is doable to stay near the airport for a night and head for the border in the next morning! And the first bus leaves around 07:30. As for the back journey, shuttle bus line 2 is recommended.  Buses operate from 07:30 to 17:10 every 30min from the border to the airport!

How long would take for me to go from the airport to the border, cross it and come back from the border to the airport? I am wondering if I could do that in only one morning (getting the 7:30am bus), I should be back to the airport before 11:30 to board my plane.

Generally speaking, it takes about twenty minutes to around half a hour. It takes the similar time for pass the border when returning. The time will be so tight for your plan. In my opinion, you can book a returning flight in an later time, so that it will not cause troubles for you.
