You can take a train to travel between and it costs CNY75-214 per person for hard seat and different classes of sleepers.1

Both trains and buses are available.
The buses can be taken from Kunming North Railway Station and the buses are at 08:30, 10:30, 12:30. The bus takes about 6 to 7 hours and the bus fare is around 150RMB.
There are 16 trains between the two cities. The train also takes about 6 to 7 hours. The ticket fare is around 75RMB for hard seat and 142RMB for hard sleeper and 214RMB for soft sleeper. For the detail timetable, you can try to look for it on the Train Section on this website.
