change s2 into l visa?

Question

Im in china now visiting my brother on a s2 type. I wanted to renew it but we only had copies of our birthcertificates and they want the originals which we should have stamped back im my own country. Since we cant arrange this before my current one expires i'm afraid i have to leave now..Can i change my s2 into a L type? So i can stay another month..

Sorry, it's not likely that you can do it in PRC after the new regulation was implemented. But you might pay a visit to the local entry and exit management bureau to confirm this.
