About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Can I get the Z visa while in BKK on a tourist visa?

Hello, I was working in BKK, but now have accepted a job in China. So my Thai work permit has been cancelled and therefore my non-B visa also has been cancelled. Now I'm in BKK on a 30 day (on arrival) L type.

Does anyone know if the Chinese Embassy in BKK will process the Z type for me now that I'm on a L type and no longer on a non-B type?

I have a US passport. I plan to check with the embassy here, but it has been difficult reaching someone who could actually answer any questions. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Keon, I am afraid that you should go back to the USA to apply for it. Usually, those who apply in the third country or region must provide the resident permits when they apply for a Chinese type. You might confirm this with the Chinese embassy.
