Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (Health Certificate)

I'm in the process of securing employment with a school in China. Their contract is for 1 year. They asked that I do a back ground check & acquire a notarized health certificate? Is this necessary or required? Is there a better way to do this? The school seems to want me to pay for everything myself. Is this normal typical of schools in China?

Yes, both police clearance and health certificate are required for work purpose. Some companies or schools promise to pay but some not.

I've begun my search for a Hospital or Doctor willing to perform this. I've found many who will do a health certificate from another country into USA, but I currently only found 1 who will do it from USA To another country & wants to charge more than $1200. In the past it only cost me about $200 maybe $300. Are you aware what a reasonable price would be & where or how to find a facility that performs these types of physicals?

Sorry, I have no idea what the reasonable price is. But I need to remind you that the embassy usually require a physical report done by a State-owned hospital. Or they might appoint some hospitals to do physical examinations. So I think you may contact the Chinese consulate or embassy to ask where you should take the examination.
