About:How to Choose China Train Ticket Types?

children and travelling by rail

dear reader

We are a family from Netherlands mom, dad and two small children (4 and 2 years).

we want to go by rail from Xian to Beijing, and from Beijing to Shanghai.

we want to deal with the high speed ones, 2nd class. What will they cost?

Do we also have to pay separately for the children or may be with us on our chair?

Regards Kirsten

As far as i know, if your kids is lower than 1.2m and they are free of charge but need to share seats with parents. For kids between 1.2m - 1.5m, the children ticket charge is about 60-70% of that of the adult ticket but kids have seats. You can contact this site for details, they have plenty of info and directions. Wish your family a nice trip.
