About:China Private Visit Visa

Half sister coming for two short visits within 30 days. L visa still OK?

I am here on a work Z. Can an L still be issued to my sister even though we are related (half-sister)? She needs a dual entry as she will be here first for 73 hours, then for 5 days with a trip abroad in the middle. I get the impression that the S2 are single entry and meant for more long term stays. I want to tell her to just apply for the double entry L, but worry she will be rejected because she is "visiting family". By the way, my other sister can on an L in October after the new rules were introduced. I hadn't even heard of the new rules at that time and all was well. Thank for your prompt reply!

Hi, it is ok for your half sister to apply for a double entry L this time with your invitation letter. She can provide detailed itinerary and plane tickets as supporting documents for L application.

I appreciate the clarification. Reading the descriptions on websites makes it seem as though family has no choice but to apply for S1 or S2. Thank you.
