About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I still need a visa? I am having a three night stop over in Suzhou.

Hello,
I land in Shanghai and the hours on my flight tickets from when I land to when I depart total 76 hours. However I will be checking back into the airport within the 72 hours.

Hi, you need to apply for a Chinese visa in advance for this transit. Because Suzhou airport is not included among those cities which have been approved to carry out this 72 hour free transit policy.
