Double entry visa (30 day duration). Return flight proof required?

I have a double entry (30 day duration). I am travelling to China for business and will need to be there for 6 weeks. I understand that I can extend / renew it whilst out there. However, will I need proof of a return flight to gain entry and if so, does this need to be within 30 days of entry?

Hi, if you total stay is 6 weeks, you are advised to exit to HK and back again to start your second entry. Extension after the first entry is ok, but you may lose the other entry. Flight ticket is not required for F extension anyway, but as I know, an invitation letter from a Chinese company or individual is required.
