About:China Work Visa

I'm applying for Chinese Z work visa IN USA ( Chinese. Chicago embassy)....

The Chinese Embassy in Chicago tells me I don't need to show them the physical examination for Z while applying in USA.

HOWEVER, the Chinese bureau in Beijing told my employer that I need the physical examination from an authorized hospital (and then send the exam results to my employer in Beijing) so that my employer can apply for the "Invitation Letter of Duty Authorized Unit (Visa Notice)", and then send it to me here in USA.

Anybody have experience applying for Chinese work Z in USA- primarily in midwest?
Why doesn't the Chinese embassy in Chicago know what to do?

Hi, it is true that you need the physical examination done in USA becuase it is required for your employer to get for you an official invitation letter and work permit (or Certificate of Employment) in Beijing. With these two documents, then you can apply for work Z from Chinese consulate.
