Long stopover in Liuting Intl Airport

Hello, I have a 10 hour overnight stop-over in Qingdao Liuting Intl (TAO) on my way to Incheon(Seoul) and I was wondering if there are any hotels or places to sleep within the airport transfer area?

I will not be able to exit the transfer area since I do not have a tourist visa prepared.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I just know there are lounges for first class passengers in the airport. May I know what kind of air ticket do you hold? Anyway, fr the lounge service, you can dial 0532-96567 to consult the details.

Thanks for the quick reply Iris!

To answer your question: I will be flying on an economy class air ticket so I don't think I would be allowed in the first class lounge.

Thanks for the phone number, I will call for more details.

China doesn't issue single day visa's does it? Would be great to just go to the closest hotel and sleep for 8 hours, especially since it will be an overnight stopover.

Thanks again for all your help!

China does not single day visa.
If you are making a transfer between two international flights, you can apply for a stay permit in the airport and then you can go out of the airport for about 8 hours.

Thanks Bob! I will be making a transfer between two international flights -- so a 'stay permit' sounds like a terrific solution!

Do I do that when I arrive Liuting airport -- or is that something I need to organize beforehand, perhaps at the chinese embassy in London?

Thanks again :)

Hi again Bob --- after some research it looks as though this airport does not allow the permit type that you mentioned:

This is a quote from another page on this website:
"2. Passport holders of following 51 countries and regions can be granted a visa-free stay of up to 72 hours while in transit via Beijing Capital Airport (PEK), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) & Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN), Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), Shenyang Taoxian International Airport (SHE) and Dalian International Airport (DLC):

Please do not worry.
You do not need to do anything in advance and just go to apply at the airport custom.
I know that policy and it is the the 72-hour visa free policy.
According to the rules, since you just stay for no more than 24 hours, you just need a permit for your 8-hour temporary going-out.
The policy I told you and the 71-hour visa free policies are two different clauses and both of them are valid.
Hope this time, it is clear for you and can remove your worry.

Fantastic - thanks so much for this information Bob!

It's great to know that I can spend my long stopover sleeping in a comfortable hotel bed rather than trying to sleep on the airport floor !

Thanks again Bob
