Shipping to the UK from Beijing

Hey, I have a package measuring 100x70 mm and weighing 100g. Time of delivery is not important, 2-4 weeks is ok. How much would this cost? (from looking at the table it seems that it would only cost 9.5 CNY... to me that seems incredibly cheap and made me think that maybe I had made a mistake?) and also would I need to pay insurance?

It won't be that cheap. I input your package weight and calculated the cost on the China Post website. It says the cost is around CNY 160. If you send some precious things, I think you'd better pay insurance for it.

Thanks for the reply Daniel, I don't wan't to be a pain but can you explain why the tables say it will only equate to 9.5 CNY? 9.5 to 160 CNY is a HUGE jump haha.

Hey Daniel, the information above suggests 162.3 CNY for a Large Package under 1KG. Does 100x70mm constitute as a large package? Is that what makes the big jump from 9.5 CNY?

Philip, I just calculated the fee by using the calculator on China Post Website. It's easy to use. You just choose your destination and weight of your parcel and also the transportation mode. I chose "by air" for you and then it turned out to be around CNY 160. Unfortunately, you might not use it because it's written in Chinese.

Personally, I think it's just the estimated price because it doesn't include the potential duty and package wrapping fee ect. If you are still in PRC, go and ask the local post office and they will tell you exactly how much it costs, haha.

Last thing, I am pretty sure that it won't be as cheap as CNY 9.5.

Ah ok, I see. Yeah, unfortunately I can't read Chinese but that clears things up for me. Thanks for the quick reply
