What is the name or full address of your hotel? Anyway, you can travel from where you are to China Ferry Terminal to catch a ferry to M. Upon arrival the ferry terminal in M, you can easily catch a free shuttle bus or the local Casinos and hotels to the downtown. Then you can visit Senado Square, the Ruins, and M Tower. In the evening, you can walk into a Casino for fun if you are interested.

There are so many places to see in HK...unfortunately I only have 2 1/2 days and
I already know I have to go to Macau...Can you recommend other places for the remaining short time. Someone suggest Mongtok market! at night. What do you think?

I think the Macau may cost you about one day for general.
For HK, in my opinion, the Ngong Ping 360 & Ngong Ping Town and the Peak cannot be missed. Then you can choose to go to the Victorial Bay and visit the Star of Avenue. I think all these place are enough for another one and a half day in HK.
If after that, you still have some time, you can go to the Causeway Bay area to shop and taste the local snacks.
