5 years multiple entry Q2 visa

I am a US citizen now. My parents are Chinese citizens living in China. If I apply Q2 for both me and my toddler, do we both automatically get 5-year multiple entry Q2?

Many thanks.

No, Q2 is for short stay less than 180 days. It may be issued with single entry only. Actually, the consular officers will decide the enties and duration of stay each time. In your situation, you may have a try to apply for Q1 type for longer stay.

No, Q2 can't, but for Q1 for example in Shenzhen if you have over 200,000 RMB in your Chinese spouses account you can get 4 to 5 years Family resident permit. , it'll help if she owns a house.. Different cities might have different "support money" requirements. Like in Shenzhen 60,000RMB gets you 1 year. If you are getting a family resident permit in the City that isn't your spouses hometown you'll only get 6 months at first, maybe more next time.. Remember the steps. 1.Come into China & Register your passport and address, 2. Take your Q type and address registration to the PSB. 3. The PSB will convert the it into a family resident permit.
