Should I have transit visa for China for this flight?

I have flight from China Southern Airlines for Sydney to Istanbul. It goes to Guangzhou and then to Urumçi and then to Istanbul. I am a Turkish citizen. If yes, can I get it when I arrive to China airport or should I get it before I go there? Thanks, Guler Erdonmez
