About:Beijing Subway Line 2

Getting from Beijing Capital Airport to Xicheng District?

Hi there,

I am staying at a hotel in the xicheng district and wondered how I get there from the airport.
I don't want to pay for a taxi until closer to the hotel.
I know I get the airport express and change to line 2 but where do I get off?
For visiting tourist attractions is it worth getting a line 2 travel card for a few days?
Only in Beijing for 3 days.

Also any advice for visiting the Great Wall would be great!

Thanks, Lois

Hi, would you mind tell me your hotel's name, so that I can tell you the detail routes.
Since you only stay there for three days, the travel card is not necessary. Taking subway in that city is not expensive.
For visiting the Great Wall, it is suggested to go to Mutianyu, where scenery is much more beautiful and less crowded.

Hi there,

I am staying at Shichahai Shadow Art Hotel.. It seems it is quite hard to get to but there is a subway that is ten minutes away so I thought it would be cheaper to get the subway to the nearest point then get a taxi from there on.
If you could help me out on how I get there that would be great!
It is just three days to experience Beijing with tourist attractions such as The Great Wall and The Forbidden City.

Thanks, Lois

As I know, the nearest subway station is the Beihai North Station, but to transferring to that station is little bit complex.
In my opinion, you can take the airport express to Dongzhimen station first and then take the subway line 2 to Jishuitan Station. Then change a taxi to that hotel. Although the Jishuitan Station is a little bit far comparing to Beihai North, but the transferring process is much easier for you.

Many thanks Dorris, is the subway ticket one ticket for these two journeys or do you have to buy two seperate tickets?
Do you recommend having the chinese address of the hotel printed out for the taxi driver?

Thanks

Hi, it will be two separate tickets: one for Express Train and the other for subway.
It will be great and very useful to show the Chinese address of the hotel or the Chinese name of the hotel to the taxi driver. Smart!
