About:Entry Regulations of China

aM i ALLOWED TO CARRY HAM THRU CHINA , IN TRANSIT TO PHILIPPINES ?

I am travelling thru Guangzhou from Brisbane to Manila , am I allowed to carry meat (ham) , prepacked and cooked(smoked) ? I am arriving in the evening , staying overnight in Guangzhou , as my connecting flight does not leave until the following morning?

As I know, it is forbidden to take meat into China, so you'd better have the luggage check-through service from your airlines so that the check-in luggage will be transported to your final destination without passing Guangzhou.
