About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Who do I contact to inform of my visa free entry?

I fly in to Shanghai, stay with friends 1 night and then fly out the next day.

You can inform your airline before boarding the plane to Shanghai. Then the free transit permit will be issued to your passport upon arrival. If your stopover is less than 24 hours in Shanghai, nothing is required, you can apply for it directly after arrival.
