About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have a 24 hour layover in Shanghai with an airport transfer - does this qualify for the free visa?

I have tried to contact China Eastern (the airline I am flying) on this matter. They have not responded. If I cannot get in touch with them ahead of time will I be able to obtain the necessary documents to travel outside of the airport on arrival? Or is it understood that the airline will provide them because I need to get to the other airport anyway?

If you transfer between these two airports in Shanghai, then you won't have any problem. But please confirm with the airport if you need to apply for a stay permit.
