is there a train from Xian to Lijiang?
what are the most non touristy towns or villages to visit?

There is no train to Lijiang and you have to transfer in Kunming. From Xian, there is only one train to KM, using 35 hours. From KM to LJ, the train take about 8 to 9 hours.
For that area, the LJ Old Town cannot be missed. Besides, the Lugu Lake, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Tiger Leaping Gorge attract many travelers to go every year and are worth visiting.0
