About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Z cancelled by getting another Visa before transferring to residence permit

Hello,

I have a Z which is still valid for another ten days but I have just returned from a trip and returned on a 30 day M. After reading the description above, it would seem the M has cancelled out the Z and naturally I feel quite ill at the thought of having to go through the entire process again...

My Z is still within the 30 day period by another 10 days, is there no chance the PSB will accept it?

Will it appear on a system that I have entered on an M or is it a case of them simply finding the new one in the passport?

Thanks, any advice would be appreciated. I just came back from Australia after getting the Z and dont think I'd be able to afford to fly back there and go through the whole process again

Hi, may I know if you mean you just used your Z to exit China and then applied for an M for this entry? anyway, you should visit the local PSB asap for application of residence permit. I think your work Z is acceptable.

Hi thanks for your reply, it is much appreciated.

Yes, I used my z to exit and since it was only one entry, I needed another one to re enter and M was easier than tourist.

My z is still within the 30 days required to transfer however I fear it may be void as I may now be recognized to be on an m

I understand your worries. It is true actually that you Z expired when you exit and you are now in the M. Anyway, you can have a try to apply for residence permit at the local PSB.
