what is the scenery like near Pingyao---is it pretty, or dry and dusty?

When do you travel there?
It is a little bit dry comparing to other cities and the temperature difference is a little bit big in summer.
Winter is not suggested to go unless you go there during the New Year Time.0

Early June. But is it an interesting region topographically? Or just flat and dry? We are trying to decide between this area and Guilin.0
