From Tai'an, there is no train for Kashgar, so you need to take train 1085 to Urumqi first and then change another train to Kashgar.
The train from Tai'an to Urumqi is around 49 hours and the train from Urumqi to Kashgar is around 25 hours.
The train is the cheapest method but takes a long time.2
