About:China Visa Application in UK

Gary - UK citizen in Kuala Lumpur

I'm a British citizen working in Kuala Lumpur and wish to visit a friend in Beijing during CNY. My friend informs me that British citizens now receive a 72 hours transit visa on arrival, is this correct. If I am traveling from KL to Beijing and back do I need to go through the free transit application process ?

NO, you can not avail this 72 hour free transit if you travel a single return trip - from KL to Beijing then back to KL. So, you need to apply for a tourist L in advance.
