About:Chinese Consulate in Vancouver

i have a one night layover in shanghai, do i need to contact an embassy before i leave?

One night layover between japan and canada( china eastern air)

Hi, nothing required if you just have a one night layover. You can apply for a stay permit easily after arrival at the airport.
