About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Entering twice?

Flying from Amsterdam to Auckland via Shanghai, I assume I am eligible for a 72-hour free transit visa.
Two questions:
1. is this granted upon arrival without an advance request by the airline?
2. can I apply for this for a second time on my return trip?
Thanks for responding

You need to inform your airline about this free transit request so that they can email your information to the airport. The permit is issued upon arrival at the airport by showing your passport and confirmed flight ticket. Yes, you can avail this free transit permit both ways if you meet above requirements.
