Days around the 1st of May

Is it a problem to get train tickets during the public holidays around the 1st of May? If so, is it also a problem in the days immediately before and after?

Yes, it will be hard to get train ticket around May 1 at the train ticket. You should also avoid the three days immediately before or after of the public holidays. Anyway, if you book the tickets online in advance, it shall be fine.
