About:China Student Visa

convert into x visa in mainland china

Hello,

My husband is currently on a Q2. He wants to enroll for a 6 month language course in shanghai.
It expires sometime in april. The school says he can start on it and when the times come they can help him convert it into X, is this really feasible? By the way he was supposed to get an S2 instead of the Q2 as i am a foreigner living and working here. I believe the emabssy made a mistake.

Yes, you are right, he supposed to get an S2 type. As I know, it is possible to convert it to an X2 without leaving. For application itself, admission notice or certification documents of enrollment issued by the host institution and the application for Study in China (JW201/JW202) form are required.
