About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

does anyone know if the currency conversion people will convert saudi arabian riyals to RMB in Guangzhou?

I have a US passport, but I have a few hundred riyals that I thought the GZ banks would convert - but they act like I'd from Mars when they see currency with palm trees and swords on it :)

I think the riyals cannot be convert to RMB in GZ. Only 17 kinds of currency can be converted in Bank of China, but it does not include the riyals.

thanks Ellen - yes, I already went to the local bank of china and found out they wanted nothing to do with riyals. I was hoping that maybe the people in the airport might be a little more flexible, but if theyre bank employees, then no, they wouldnt be. I didnt know the airport money changers work for a bank, since I've never changed money at an airport before. I thought it was a service from the airport or the government.
