About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Do I need a Visa, I have an Australian passport and live in Perth WA

I am cruising from Brisbane to Hong Kong on Queen Mary in March 2014, my husband and I are going on a half day tour of Shanghai when we stop there. Is This classed as in transit? If I do need a visa, what type should I apply for? and is there an Embassy in Perth?.
Regards
Glenys

Yes, it's classed as in transit. Therefore, you needn't apply for the G type one in advance.
