About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I found within 24 hours no visa in Beijing airport transfer. Is it true?

My case is almost 22 hours. Arriving 8:15pm, then depart next day 5:50pm. 1 night required in Beijing. I will stay at friends house in Beijing.

72 hours program is register between 24 hours~72 hours stay there at the police office only, because within 24 hours already permited by Korean passport wothout no visa program and register required within 24 hours at the police office. I guess my case no need to require register, because when i will be outbound passport control, they automatically checcked and registered(within 24 hours). Is it correct?

Here is one of register rules.

2. Visitors are required to register at a police station with their transit permits within 24 hours after entry. (Here it should be clear that the registration will be done when you check in to a hotel. So, personal registration is required only for those who stay at their friends' or family's place.)

Yes, if you don't stay at a Chinese friend or family's place, you needn't register at local police station. If you stay at a hotel outside of the airport, your hotel should register for you.
