Do I need to apply for free stay permit to stay in an arranged hotel from China Southern Airline?

Hi there,
I am going to fly from Heathrow, London to Baiyun, Goungzhou. Get a layver of 20 hours before fly to destination_ Vietnam. I got confirm from the agent that the airline will arrange a hotel for me to stay overnight. In that case, do I need to apply to go to the arranged hotel?

P/s: I am Vietnamese passport holder with a valid UK visa of over 1 year remaining.
Cheers

You needn't apply for a transit type since you just stay less than 24 hours at the airport.

Thanks for ur reply. But will the officer let me transfer to the organized hotel without one like that? Or I have to stay on the floor of the airport for the whole 20 hours?
Cheers

If your airline arranges hotel for you, you should have been allowed to go out and have stayed at the hotel. I think you should confirm this and learn details from your airline.
