Applying for tourist visa of China

I am applying for tourist type for PRC and would also like to visit Hong Kong, do i have to take this one for that as well? f yes then whats the procedure would i get it from the same place from where i am applying for the L type. I have Pakistan passport and right now studying in Germany and would apply for it in Frankfurt center. I also have a friend she has German passport and would also like to get one for both PRC and hong kong whats the procedure for her as well.
