Visa renewal, do I have to return to Australia?

I currently have a 12 month multi entry one.It expires on July 25 2014,to renew it do i need to return to Australia or can it be done in HK or Macau or similar or even China

You can extend it at the local Entry and Exit Administration Department or Bureau without leaving. I suggest you go there and ask for details.
