About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Coming from HK for 72 hours free transit, am I eligible?

I wish to fly from Dubai to Bejing via Hong Kong with Cathay and stay not more than 72 hours. According to what I have read I believe I will not be eligible for transit visa because I come from HK and will go back the same route. Am I correct?

HK airport is not available for 72 hours free transit. If you fly from Dubai to HK and stay at Beijing Airport, then you can apply for it.
