Age limit for residency permit

Hi, is there an upper age limit for applying for a residency permit? I am 70 years old and I am in good health. Is there any reason that I cannot apply for this permit?

It depends on which type you are going to apply for. People above 65 can't get their visa easily. So I think it will be very difficult for you to acquire the residency permit. More importantly, just a very small number of applicants (around 200) can get their permanent resident permits every year. It's really too difficult to apply for the permanent resident permit.

Hi, The reason I ask is that I had been working in China for 10 years. I was employed. I had a residency permit for all that time. When we applied in the 11th year, I was turned down because I was over 60. At that time I was 67 years old. I had to leave China. So I think the rules are somewhat arbitrary.
