About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

double stop transit in China

Hi, if anyone can advice me whether I will be required a visa or not with my situation. I am from a country of origin which is not eligible for 48 or 72 hours visa exemption. My itinerary is as below.

From Delhi to Shanghai: layover time 16 hours.
From Shanghai to Nanjing: layover time 9 hours.
From Nanjing to Tokyo.

I understand that no nationals are required to apply for a visa if you stay at the transit city less than 24 hours. I will not stay more than 24 hours at each city, though the total layover will exceed 24 hours.

Does anyone know if I need one with this situation?

Your help is appreciated!!

You need to apply for a G type one (transit type) before you fly to PRC since your total stay in PRC is longer than 24 hours.
