About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

My girlfriend is currently working in China with a valid Chine visa , she comes from the Phillipines

My question is , having paid for her application costs and return air fare . I am advised that the chinese customs have stated she need to exit the country with $5000 .. to prove she can live abroad ??

Is this correct please , or is it a scam ??

Hi, I don't think it is true because she is going to work, but not for tourism. Why they want to see $5000 as proof of living abroad. But I do heard that the Chinese embassy requires a bank statement for tourist L application as proof to cover the stay in China. Anyhow, they are different issue.
