Can Canadians apply for Chinese visa in Sri Lanka (L)?

Hi,

I'm a Canadian citizen currently in Shanghai doing an internship (F) My internship will end at Chinese New Year and I have plans to travel to Sri Lanka. After, I want to come back to Shanghai to stay with my boyfriend (who is a student) for 2-3 months before I go back to Canada.
