Visa denied?

Hello, I'm from Spain. I had a 90 days tourist L which I used in Beijing.

I got it in the chinese embassy at the Philippines, where I was working for the last 2 years.

I flied out back to the Philippines to ask for a renewal-extension and my apply was denied. Should I try to go to Hong Kong? Any reason why it would be denied?
