canadian looking to acquire a visa at the shenzhen border

Question

How easy is it now to get it at the Shenzhen border now? I've applied for it previously and have an expired three year visa myself, but my girlfriend has not been to China before so I'm concerned about getting turned away at the border. Especially since I've heard that the border has gotten tighter and applications are not as easy recently. We could apply in advance but I'm still curious if any Canadians have applied for one at the Louwu station?

Don't worry, Tim, it is easy to get a Shenzhen VOA as Canadian passport holders. If you are still worried about this, you can also apply for the full Chinese visa in advance in HK.
