About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Is it possible to get a multi entry visa without set dates and/or itinerary?

I intend to come and go to China for a 2 month period next year however I have no set dates of travel and may not at the time of applying for it.

I am afraid not. Actually, multiple entry is very difficult to get even if you have all these documents well prepared. But if you just need to stay there for two months, a double entry is enough. Or even you get a single entry, it can be extend once time while you are in China.
