Staying one night in Guangzhou

Hey,
I am an Israeli passport holder. I will be flying out of Japan to NZ with a layover in Guangzhou.
From what I read here with an Israeli Passport I will not get a transit visa.
What are my possibilities?

How long will you stay at the Guangzhou airport? If it is less than 24 hours, then you won't have any problem. If longer, you should apply for a G type one in advance.
