About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

leaving from different airports in Shanghai

I will arrive in Pu Dong from India and leave from Hongqioao Airport to Japan 22 hours later. I am from one of the 45 countries benefitting from the 72-hours visa free transit. Does it apply also when leaving from a different airport?

Yes, it is ok for you to take advantage of this free transit permit in Shanghai. You are allowed to leave from a different airport, because the transition between Pudong and Hongqiao is allowed under this rule.
