Oh, it is really a large area by saying suburbs. Would you specify a little with your intending location around the city? Then I can find a proper hotel for u.

Thx Bella (for a swift response). Yes… I’ll be there for 20 days. Doing daily tours/visits to entertainment spots, gardens, towers, monuments, antique shops, restaurants, boat rides etc. Therefore, transportation & food are top priorities :-) for daily tours.

I’m thinking 3-to-4 star accommodation.

Ok, then you may consider staying in a hotel in Songjiang District in suburbs, according to my experience. I know Shunhao Hotel and Vienna International Hotel (Happy Valley branch), both of which are within 2km from Zhujiang New Town subway station of line 9. Therefore, if you stay there, you can easily catch metro to visit the attractions in or around the city.
Anyway, this is just for your reference!
