Preparation To Taiwan on Jan 2014

Hi, i will be travelling to that island on first week of Jan 2014. Places will be overall of Taiwan Island (inclusive TaiChung, Kaohsiung, TaiTung, Hua Lien, Taipei......). Heard the weather in ranch area will be apporx 8-9C plus strong wind. How about others places ? i am wondering do i need to prepare 3 layers clothes (inclusive longjohn) during visiting the island?

The average temperature in Jan for the island is different in different parts. In the north, it is around 15.4 to 16.3C, 15.7 to 17.1C in the middle, around 18.3 to 19.6C in the south, 17.5 to 18.4C in the east part. If there is no cold air, the temperature will be a little bit high, but it will below 10C if you meet the cold air.

The temperature difference is a little bit bigger and the wind will be heavy near the sea, but it is OK in the city downtown area.

It is suggested to take your thick sweaters and a thick coat. If you plan to the mountain areas, the down jacket is suggested.
