About:Year of the Snake

Why was the snake year 2013 so bad for me as a snake April 20, 1965?

I was laid off from a good paying job. Will the horse year 2014 be better for my career and wealth?

I too am a Snake (June 1965) and my mother (we are Chinese) warned me last year about 2013 being a bad luck year. Being Americanized, I didn't believe it, but I've always heard it's a bad year when it's your year. So I started 2013 with caution. Today, looking back, it sure was a bad year all around for me. Work stress, broken marriage, difficult teens, my cat unexpectedly died - all of which I had no idea was coming. My mom was right.

Thanks for your answer, with the horse year starting Jan 31/14, we will be okay for the next 11 years.
