About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

How should I time my visa app as ill be traveling (& technically homeless) for months prior?

Aloha, we're moving out of Honolulu, shipping all our stuff to my folks in AZ in March. We're going to New Zealand for 3wks followed by 3+wks in Thailand, then over to PRC for 6wks. Turning out to be a logistical nightmare (to travel & move at the same time). If Chinese visas are only good for 3 months after app date, how can I apply within the timeframe & make this work? Your expertise is much appreciated! Mahalo

Yes, a Chinese single entry L is valid for 3 months only from issue date, but it is ok for entry if you plan to stay 6 weeks in total in other countries before visiting China. BTW, you can also apply for a double entry tourist L because a single entry is generally issued with 30 days as duration of stay. A double entry is longer enough as you plan to stay for 6 weeks. This requires that you need to exit once and re-enter to start another 30 days.
