I am a US Citizen and flying back from Thailand through Beijing, so Bangkok-Beijing-USA, can I get the 72 hour visa? I've read in some places that if the destination is your home country, USA, it doesn't qualify. I'd be in Beijing for less than 24 hours.

Hi, don't worry, you can get a free stay permit after arrival at the Beijing airport.

Thank you Austin. Stay Permits are just for the airport, I was wondering about the 72 hour permit that would let me leave the airport. Correct me if I'm misunderstanding the rules of the stay permit.
