Visa Waiver

Is the exemption valid if I fly London to Hong Kong (1 night stay). Then fky Hong Kong to Bejiing (2nights stay) then fly from Beijing to London, but making my flight connection at Hong Kong again (will not go through customs as flights connection is just over an hour)
